We’re proud to help fund the new play equipment from our Community Partnerships Program
We’re delighted to help build a new playground for Appin Public School, in the Wollondilly region of New South Wales.
Working in partnership with the school’s principal Vivian Harrison and its Parents & Citizens’ Association, our Illawarra Metallurgical Coal contributed $43,000 towards the project from its Community Partnerships Program.
The timing of the work was perfect, with students recently returning to Appin Public School following an easing of some COVID-19 restrictions in New South Wales.
Jason Economidis, Vice President Operations at Illawarra Metallurgical Coal said: “This is a great example of working to support and strengthen our local communities.”
“Our Community Partnerships Program continues to deliver significant funding for local projects and we will keep investing in the future of the communities where we operate,” he said.
Vivian Harrison, Appin Public School Principal, said: “We are absolutely delighted with our new playground. It gives our students a great new place to play, meet and exercise.”
Our Illawarra Metallurgical Coal Community Partnerships Program was established in 2004 to support community projects and initiatives in the region surrounding our operations.
